About Renaultsport

From Super One Karting to Formula One, the Renault brand is synonymous with every level of motorsport both nationally and internationally.

For those drivers opting to race in the Clio Cup, the next feasible move is into touring cars or GT racing. But for those in single-seaters, the pan-European Formula Renault V6 category is the perfect middle ground between Formula Renault UK and the world of Formula One where the Renault F1 Team is a consistent front-runner.

Examples of this type of career progression aren't difficult to find – a third of drivers on the current British Touring Car Championship grid have competed in Renault's championships while McLaren Formula One star Kimi Raikkonen won the Formula Renault UK title in 2000.

As a headline sponsor in British Championship karting in 2004, the only time a manufacturer has ever given this kind of support in entry-level motorsport, a driver can now realistically build a complete career path with Renault all the way to Formula One.

From the BTE Lawline/Renault-backed karting classes, drivers have two options - either pursue a single-seater career by competing in the world-renowned Formula Renault UK Championship or to race in saloon cars in the ELF/BTE Lawline Renault Clio Cup.
