Regarded as the most popular and cost-effective junior single-seater series in the country, the Protyre Formula Renault BARC Championship provides the perfect entry-level category for all aspiring young drivers.

Bridging the gap between karting and championships such as Formula Renault UK, Formula Renault BARC gives career-minded drivers the chance to gain vital race experience on the UK’s leading circuits in a state-of-the-art ‘slicks and wings’ carbon fibre car.

It also remains one of the foremost feeder series for more senior categories on the ladder towards the FIA Formula One World Championship. Indeed, 2007 Formula Renault BARC Vice-Champion Dean Stoneman went on to test an F1 car within just three years.

As in 2011, Protyre Formula Renault BARC has a strong six-date calendar with the grand finale taking place on the high-profile TOCA support package – an event offering maximum exposure for sponsors with tens of thousands of spectators in attendance. For the first time in 2012, Formula Renault BARC will feature two ‘triple header’ events to offer competitors even greater value for money.
