Millroy,  Bell and EdgarTitle: B4/Renault ABkC KF2 National Championship

Overview: Replaces Formula ICA and is one of the hardest fought and popular classes. It provides a stepping stone for seniors on their way to KF1 as well as a lower cost alternative for drivers who want to compete at the highest level.

Driver age: 16th year, or from age 15 with international licence

Engine: 125cc reed valve. Max 15,000rpm
Drive: Direct drive, with clutch
Tyres: Bridgestone
Chassis: CIK homologated.
Identification: White plate, black numbers

Format: Ten-minute timed session determines grid positions for two heats; best 24 drivers progress to two finals, both scoring championship points. Finishing order of final one is grid order for final two. 12 championship races (six events) with the worst two scores (not including disqualifications) dropped.

Ones to watch: Danny Cruttenden – runner up in Formula A last year, moves to the KF2 class along with last year’s ICA runners-up Greg Harper, Rob Foster and Robert Foster-Jones. Leading karters from the 2007 junior championship – Tom Joyner, Gary Thompson and Jordan Chamberlain make the step up in 2008.
