Title: B4/Renault MSA Formula KF3 British Championship

Overview: Replaces Formula JICA and is the Motor Sports Association (MSA) Junior British Karting Championship. Primarily for drivers aged between 13 and 17, although drivers aged 12 can compete if they have the necessary prior experience. This class is also raced internationally and drivers will also compete in European and World events.

Driver age: 13th year – 17 (12 with prior experience)

Engine: 125cc reed valve engine, restricted 14,000rpm
Drive:  Direct drive, centrifugal clutch
Chassis: CIK homologated
Tyres: Bridgestone
Identification: Yellow plate, black numbers.

Format: Timed qualifying determines grid position for two heats; best 24 drivers progress to two finals. Finishing order of final one is the grid order for final two. Championship points awarded for both finals. 12 championship races (six events) with the worst two scores (not including disqualifications) dropped.

Ones to watch: A huge field guarantees close racing, with rear-wheel-only braking allowing plenty of overtaking. Sam Jenkins and Mackenzie Taylor shone in the Formula JICA series last year, while two of the top four seeds from Stars of Tomorrow join KF3 this season.
