  • James is often seen racing a variety of historic cars outside of his UK Clio Cup duties, famously in Austin A30s/A35s (he's a regular front-runner at the annual Goodwood Revival and Members meetings) and a 1959 Lenham GT sportscar which he says "is the most fun I've ever had in a car".
  • His historics are all prepared by the family Westbourne company which also fettles a racing-spec 1960s Morris Minor in police livery (no.999) for famous musician Chris Rea!
  • Indeed James is from a motor sporting family – his father Richard was previously a front-runner in Mini Miglia racing and his 17-year-old brother Ben is an emerging name in historic racing and the BARC's club-level Michelin Clio Cup Series...
  • James also manages the Westbourne 'control room' - the company owns the biggest fleet of breakdown recovery vehicles across the South-East of England.
  • James was UK Clio Cup championship runner-up in 2011 - he was pipped to the title in the very last race by Paul Rivett but still finished ahead of Aron Taylor-Smith (now in the BTCC).
