- James is from a motor sporting family – his father Richard was previously a front-runner in Mini Miglia racing.
- His 16-year-old brother Ben is also one to watch having mopped in the Junior Saloon Car category and then gone to show very well in the HRDC Academy series.
|2016: he has concentrated on the HRDC Academy in a Westbourne Motorsport-prepared Austin A30. "I've had loads of poles; I've just not won one yet!" He also had 2 poles, 2 wins and set a new lap record in a one-off outing in Anglesey's rounds of the BARC Clio Series (again with Westbourne). Contested only three race events in 2015: Thruxton's UK Clio Cup rounds (with Team BKR); using a latest UK Clio Cup car was then 2nd outright in both a Britcar round at Snetterton (against much more powerful GT and sportscar machinery) and in a CNC Heads Sports & Saloons race at Mallory Park.|
