Wheels have been refurbed in black. Needs a cambelt (was 4/5 months overdue) and the front discs & pads to be legal for them to sell it I'd have thought.

FRS feels like its loosened up a lot, really strolls on, which is handy as it's like honey to every ST owner out there.

With those bits done on the 250 it has to be a great used buy. Plenty of miles left on it for some quality hammering.

Yea for sure, this one spent most of its 65k sat in 6th gear on motorways. Take it of their hand for 9k, visit RS Tuning and you have a bit of a weapon that should treat you well. Now that's where the smart car buying money goes..Blush
Edit...
19" PSS in very good condition sat on each corner....Thinking of it I should have taken them off and stuck some cheap crap on it as they're the same as I could have used them on the Focus....doh

Got the annual insurance renewal for it today...was paying 300ish for the Megane......910 for the Focus. Comedians...told Hastings where to go, quotemehappy back to 350. Not sure what world insurance companies live in.

Still want to get it Mountuned but effort/interest in doing so has faded, will wait to see if some sorta discount/deal turns up to tempt me in.

try dreamscience, great reputation and really good maps. their ultimate map for the FRS is very very impressive.

mountune are disappointing i often read, poor customer service and stocks held minimal.

Quite clever marketing, "we've been on the forums engaging/reading what our most enthusiastic custs want"...so here's some extra RS badges.....can't blame them for milking it I guess

in no way do we have spare build slots available that we need to shift metal because we over-extended on anticipated sales....

very very average 'special edition'.

From what I've read it's single digits in the UK re the cracked blocks and only an issue with early cars.

The straightline veering thing...I've had wiffs of torque steer but nowhere as much as a Megane 250 which barely had any anyway so I dunno what people are on about.

Hi Marc, how is the RS? Pros, cons after 6 months ownership? We are after a new family car, but don't think the Megane will be out in time, so looking at a FRS as a possibility (alongside the cupra estate, or just going for a regular SUV type, still not 100% decided).

Just after an owner insight really, cheers

Not had any issues after 6k miles/months.

Think the sync 3/sound system is good from a use/sound point.

Fairly fuel efficient once run it. Mines doing 29.6mpg but it's 90% motorway work @ 90ish....

As a family car I can't see any noticeable downside really, standard suspension is megane cup stiff, fuel tank isn't very big, boot isn't as big as a normal focus.

There's nothing standout detrimental aside from how much interest they attract from the no good.

Apparently they're making a Red Edition and a Sky Edition (why you would want to pay 36+ grand to advertise them lot) which only differ mechanically with a front LSD which is now a warranty approved aftermarket fit if you wish. Some talk they may include the 375 upgrade although mountune has now produced the non-warranty friendly 400 kit which aint cheap when you can get the same power with just a map from elsewhere...

Seems like if you want one you had best get down your local dealers golf club.

The more I see of the FRS the more I think they got its 'look' spot onBig Smile Not over the top like the Civic and not bland like the Golf R.

Renault need to get their pricing right with the new Megane, I cant see many wanting to pay more for nicely speccced Cupped car than the equivalent FRS.

Have to say, it looks horrendous in silver wheels. Just doesn't sit right at all.

Totally agree Penn, it has to have the black wheels and the blue, but the red looks good tooBig Smile

Cars like this should be in bold colours not the boring monotone Germanic hues.

I would always say the black alloys were needed, but saw one on silver and as something to be a little bit more under the radar that the Mrs can tootle about in... if it was mine it'd be blue with black alloys, obviously

Though probably will end up with something else if I'm being realistic. I'd like her to have one, but as she'll drive it the most...
