Remember that was the stripped out super hardcore version though. If they go for a time I'd guess it will be with the Trophy 300 version so likely to be tied in with its availability/launch.

I agree with marc that Renault will probably wait for the Trophy 300 before releasing Nürburgring times.

I'll be (pleasantly) surprised if the 280 can outdo the Civic so why start publicising "oh look, we're second best"?
Let's be patient and wait for the Trophy which I believe will be more than a match for the CTR.

@Jeremy RUK, are the optional lightweight front discs larger in diameter than the standard disc ?

Yes RS have gone very quiet on the 'Ring' front but tend to agree with Eccentric that they will bring it back into the equation with the Trophy launch.

More likely with Trophy R.

Maybe but imo there would not be a great deal of kudos to be gained in beating a 5 seat Civic with a stripped out 'R' special.

Lets wait and see, it may be that despite being one of the original 'champions' of the 'Ring Time' RS will conveniently forget all about it.

To beat the civic type R the 2018 Megane Trophy basically has to go 10 seconds faster than the 275 Trophy-R. The first Mk3 ring lap (265 Trophy) went 9 seconds faster than the R26.R so sounds a reasonable target.

Will probably mean Cup2s appearing on the option list though..

Oh, I thought since the prototype had them on its already set,

Is it going to be available at launch or at a later date?

I can swallow the non recaro 280, but would really like to get these babies :)

Put like that Marc it seems quite feasible that RS will bet the 'Ring' record back, lets hope so.

RS are masters in ensuring it all goes quiet and we all lose interest after a launch.
