I think the wheelbase is pretty small, but i suppose Alpine's engineers know better!

Exactly. Considering the track width the wheelbase could be a bit longer for a more gt character.

The Alpine is far from a GT car tbh it couldn't be further removed from a GT carShocked

I think Alpine have got the looks, size and weight spot on, I love it but Flappy blows it out of the water for me I am afraidCry

The Alpine will however fly off the shelves and it deserves to.

All power to the Renault Group for producing itBig Smile

Actually i have in my mind the track width/wheelbase ratio of the Ferrari 488 GTB as the ideal mid-engined car, which of course she is not a gran tourer.

Reviews from Evo and Top Gear out today.

They both seem to like it.

Really good effort, especially considering how competitive that segment is!

Provided this will be the same engine in the Megane 4 RS, I hope it will produce the same sound harmony on the RS

Looks like a great first effort from the new Alpine brand. Good to see them being different and trying to build an out and out drivers car. It has probably the hardest competition across any sector in the superb 918 Cayman so even being in the same ballpark is a major achievement.

It doesn't get any better than that. Reviews from Top Gear, Steve Sutcliffe at Evo, Andrew Frankel at Motor Sport and more to come over the coming days. Last press drives tomorrow

Fantastic reviews so far especially the Autocar one as it is done by a British journo. They give out no more than a handful of 5 star verdicts each year so that's just the validation the car needed.
The verdict said it all.....
"Sometimes you drive a sports car – a Ferrari 458 Speciale, McLaren P1, Porsche 911 GT3 RS 4.0, or Ariel Nomad – and know that, somehow, you’re driving a landmark car. That’s the kind of feeling – even without considering the bravery of Renault to push the button on making it – the A110 gives me. Perhaps it really will be the start of something big. But even if it isn’t, the A110 is truly, wonderfully, special."
Now all Renault UK need to do is not discount them too much so the residuals are good and monthly lease costs reasonable and most importantly make sure there are demo cars in the dealers all the time otherwise people will continue to buy the default Porsche! ......Jeremy:)
