So I've got a test drive of one in a couple of weeks. Always like the Abarth 500, but the driving position was pretty poor, wasn't that quick, and thought it was quite expensive.

However, this one has 180bhp, obviously hardly weighs anything, quick enough (0-62 6.7s), sabelt bucket seats as standard, beefed up brembo brakes, and koni suspension all round.

I've been toying with the idea of getting a brand new car for my next one, but nothing has taken my fancy, or its just too expensive and/or quick to enjoy. I love the thought of a Focus RS or the next megane, but (for me) they're getting too fast to enjoy on the day to day drive. My current Trophy is perfect as you can thrash it and still keep your license. Hopefully this little Abarth has the same spirit.

People keep saying fiesta st to me, but far too common and not a fan of the styling. Plus the initial deal offers is only £259 down and £259/month on a pcp (can't remember the term).

Anyone had an Abarth before?

The new one is literally round the corner, buy with caution as residuals will be affected when the new one comes out.

I drove a 595 Biposto last year around Donington (Fiat were there at a trackday letting everyone have a go) and it was a great little car plenty of power but as you say the seating position was not great but it handled really well.

It's to go along with the new basic 500 not long released. Carscoops have some news entries on it.

Wasn't aware of a new one, but it wouldn't bother me. Sometimes the best versions come out just as the car ends production, see Clio Trophy and R26.R for example

Someone on 197.net has just got one for £100 down and £199 a month. Might not be quite the same model as I know nothing about these.

It's not the same model, that's the one down with 160bhp. The one down from that with 140bhp can be had for £179/month iirc what the dealer told me

Yeah I couldn't believe how cheap they are month on month. The dealer said because residuals are so good

They come standard where they were options before I believe.

A brand new turbo for the extra power though, and the seats are standard.

Quite a funky (if not a little girly) looking car. Certainly a better alternative to the common Fiesta.

Just saw that 695 biposto has a list price of 33 grand!

They had a 695 biposto in the showroom. Looked amazing, has lots of carbon fibre to make it light. Only a 2 seater, more like a Trophy R or R26.R

What a cracking little car. A lot faster than you imagine. Surprised some guy in a 275 Trophy round ikea roundabout.

But, jumped back in the Trophy afterwards and it's such an awesome car, compliant and not overly stiff, the 595 was really stiff. The seats were sabelt racing seats that hugged you, but again the recaros do a much better job and aren't as hard either, and you sit a lot better in the car in the T.

Needless to say, I won't be swapping (as I write this), the deal was really good, but purely on the drive the Trophy has it licked. Truley is TBHHMCB

Well, just had a call from the dealer as there's a new version out. Carbon sabelts, mechanical LSD, Brembos, 180bhp, sounds fun. Maybe this is the car to replace the T???

How much £? Bit down on bhp but if it's light could be good.
