Join the debate on your dream Renault car
With the imminent release of New Clio Renaultsport and Mégane Renaultsport 2006, Renault customers are being asked to suggest ideas for their dream Renaultsport car, with all contributions welcome from engines to exhausts, and alloys to accessories.
Renaultsport cars past and present already offer a host of stylish options, including the ground-breaking design of the open-top Spider, the impressive power of Clio Renaultsport V6 255, the unique and popular appearance of the Mégane Renaultsport 225 range and ideas from concept cars such as Wind and Argos.
Renault owners and admirers are now being asked to let their imaginations take over, and choose the features they would like to see on future Renaultsport vehicles. Who knows, the models of the future could include some of your ideas.
To receive suggestions, Renault has set up a dedicated topic on its Community forum and users are invited to add their ideas. Some contributions have already been received, someone proposing "factory and warranty approved upgrades, such as ECU or sports exhausts for RS cars," which would be particularly suitable for vehicles with a trackday bias.
Another member based his model on the styling of the Spider, with alterations to include a carbon-fibre unit body, six-speed sequential gearbox and a central driving position based on the design of the McLaren F1 road car.
One plan deals with the performance of Renaultsport cars, and the idea of introducing four-wheel drive to either Clio or Mégane models. The writer believes "The Mégane 225 would surely benefit from a four-wheel drive system, after all, asking the front wheels to steer and put down that much power is asking a lot."
