Vote for your favourite Clio Renaultsport and you could win a track day!
When Nicole first slipped past Papa in her Renault Clio for a romantic rendezvous back in 1991 it heralded the start of a more enduring love affair between UK motorists and her car.
Now, as the latest edition of the Clio hits the streets, Renaultsport is looking back at its contribution to the popular line by launching a competition to find the nation's favourite hot Clio.
We want the stories behind your passion for this style-leader, whether it is the satisfaction of how it hooks into bends or a tale of how it got you to the church on time.
Up for grabs is a day out at one of the nation's most famous circuits, allowing you to follow in the wheel tracks of motorsport's heroes in a thoroughbred-racing car.
All you have to do is vote for your favourite Renaultsport Clio model from the list and then explain in 100 words why you feel such an affinity to that mark.
Clio Cup Championship Manager and 182 Cup driver Simon North says for him it has to be the Clio 1 16V Williams. "I think it started the whole thing off and moulded the things to come," he said. "The gold wheels and blue paint work looked so cool and when you saw one on the road you knew they were driving something a bit special."
But Trophy owner Waveney Croson says the Williams may soon be overtaken in the popularity stakes. "There's a lot of discussion in the chat rooms about whether the Williams or the Trophy is best," she said. "I can only speak from what I've had and the Trophy is fabulous from a suspension perspective. That's what's done it for me. The car just handles so well."
Do you agree? Whatever your take, put your thoughts in writing and be in with a chance of winning a day at the wheel of a Mégane Renaultsport 225 at Brands Hatch or a Clio Renaultsport 182 at Oulton Park with a qualified racing instructor.
