New Clio Renaultsport to shine at Autosport International

Clio fans are in for a treat at Autosport International this weekend when two special versions of New Clio will be on display at the Renault stand at the NEC, Birmingham until January 15th, while Mégane enthusiasts will be able to get a first glimpse of the 2006 version of New Mégane Renaultsport 225.

Track racers and hot hatch fans can explore the New Clio Renaultsport concept car, which previews not only the forthcoming road-going Renaultsport version of New Clio, but also hints at the look of its race car brother, which will make its UK track debut in the 2007 ELF Renault Clio Cup.

The eagerly awaited 2006 model New Mégane Renaultsport 225 will feature Ultra Blue paint, a brand new full leather interior and new standard interior comfort advancements such as climate control and a single CD/MP3 compatible stereo. The car is fitted with the optional Cup Chassis to emphasise the sporting ethos of the range.

Completing the Mégane line-up will be one of the most awesome cars to break cover in 2005. The mid-engined Mégane Trophy race car that wowed crowds at World Series by Renault events across Europe in 2005 will be on the stand, next to its road-going inspiration.

Renault's stand boasts several other models demonstrating Renault's involvement in motor racing at all levels. On display is Fernando Alonso's Formula One World Championship-winning R25, which also carried Renault to the Constructors' title in 2005.

Alongside R25 is Manor Motorsport's championship-winning Formula Renault single-seater, illustrating Renault UK's contribution to the career path of would-be Formula One drivers, notably 2000 Formula Renault champion Kimi Raikkonen. Current champion Oliver Jarvis, recent winner of the McLaren Autosport BRDC award, will be available to guide fans round the car and discuss his hopes for emulating his Finnish predecessor.

Staff from Renault's Motorsport programme will be on hand to talk about the three Renault Championships and answer both sporting and technical questions.
