What is a Podcast?
A podcast is an audio file that you can download from the internet. It's rather like downloading a radio show, except you can listen to it on your computer or MP3 player whenever you want.
Despite the name, you don't need an iPod – our podcasts will work with almost any digital music player. You simply download the MP3 file to your PC and then listen to it or copy it to a portable MP3 player.
To listen to the podcast using a media player on your PC chose 'Open' from the pop-up window once you have clicked on the link above. If you have any 'podcatching' software on your PC, chose 'Save' from the pop-up box and the podcast will automatically save to your 'podcatching' software.
If you have special 'podcatching' software on your PC, you can automatically receive a new podcast whenever it's created. Simply copy the podcast's web address (known as a 'feed') into your software. Free podcatching programs, such as iTunes and Juice, are available to download for Windows PC's and Mac computers.
Where do I get Podcatching software from?
There are quite a few bits of software available today depending on your platform and device of choice. We have provided a small list below, but if you can’t find one that suits your needs, do a search and it won’t take you long…there are a lot of them out in the wild now.
