During the event current BMR-backed Clio Cup racer Ashley Sutton joined its BTCC drivers Aron Smith, Jason Plato and Colin Turkington (pictured) in demonstrating the new 250cc four-stroke FWD BMR 250R kart.
The squad plans to hold a number of taster race events later this year for the kart ahead of a full-blown championship in 2016.
The category will be open to drivers aged 15 years and above with the champion winning a race seat with BMR backing in 2017’s UK Clio Cup.
“I am very excited at the launch of the BMR Motorsport Academy and Touring Kart programme and we as a team are thrilled to be in a position to be able to offer this opportunity to future stars of British motor sport. We can’t wait to get started and are delighted to have Ashley on board to assist us in our project,” commented BMR Team Principal Warren Scott.
