The 18-year-old has completed two tests with Cooksport at Oulton Park and Brands Hatch and will now race alongside Rory Collingbourne (aged just 17) for the Bristol-based outfit.
Cook, last year’s Clio Cup Vice-Champion, will mentor both drivers in addition to his touring car duties. In forming his new team he has also brought with him some of the engineering personnel that helped him to some big results in 2013 and 2014.
The first two races of the 2015 Clio Cup season take place alongside the British Touring Car Championship at Brands Hatch, Kent on Sat 4th/Sun 5th April.
Bury St Edmonds racer Ladell said: “I’m really happy to have made the move and be in partnership with Team Cooksport. I feel confident that I can develop as a driver both on and off the circuit with the experience and support of the team.
“Their results last season speak for themselves and together I feel we can be challenging at the front of the grid.”
Cook said: “We’re delighted to have Charlie on board. He took a fourth place last year in what wasn’t even a full season and showed some really promising pace. We’re going to give him everything we can to help him develop as a driver.
“With Rory as well, it’s great to have two young, developing drivers on board that have huge desire to win and hopefully we can all work together to get them to the front of the grid. It’s where they want to be and where we want to be.”
