WDE boss Eason delighted with 'new-look' Ladell in pre-season testing

Charlie Ladell is already looking like a real force to be reckoned with in 2016’s Renault UK Clio Cup says his WDE Motorsport team boss Wayne Eason who says he has been left ‘stunned’ by the 18-year-old’s form in early pre-season testing.

Ladell, fifth overall in his debut UK Clio Cup season last year, has put in plenty of miles so far with tests at Snetterton, Norfolk and Thruxton, Hampshire.

And said Eason: “He’s been brilliant. He’s really got himself into shape in the gym and I’ve been really stunned with his approach and feedback during testing.

“Last year he was very much the protégé to Paul Rivett and regularly was advised which way to go with car set-ups.

"During testing we’ve let him out of his cage a bit and told him to figure a few out a few things for himself – we’ve tweaked the set-up, asked him to try it and then give his feedback or sent him on on a ‘new tyre’ run to see what he's feeling from inside the car. Every time his feedback and decision-making has been bang on.

“If he keeps up this form then he’s going to be mega. It’s really encouraging stuff. We’re testing some more with him back at Snetterton this week and also with Rory Green who’ll be getting his first real run of 2016 since re-signing with us.”
