Gus, aged 14, has been forced to withdraw from the event after breaking a finger in a rugby match.

The JamSport driver had been third in the standings (fourth on dropped scores) with a very real chance of challenging team-mate Ethan Hammerton, MRM’s Jack Young and Team Pyro’s Max Marzorati for the crown.

However he has taken the decision to withdraw from Brands Hatch's final two rounds on his doctor's advice.

Gus said: “It’s very frustrating how such a small thing can have this affect – I really wasn’t happy at all when the doctor told me yesterday! I’ll still go to Brands Hatch this weekend with my hand in a cast, but I have no option now other than to sit and watch someone else win it…

“But I’m still happy with my results from the six races I’ve done and to have led the standings after Brands Hatch in September was a high.”
