Jackson has contested the season’s opening three events for JamSport Racing but will join British Touring Car racer Josh Cook’s Clio Cup squad in time for the up-coming rounds at Oulton Park (6-7 June).
In his maiden Clio Cup season the 21-year-old from Bedford has achieved four top ten results from the opening six rounds including a pair of eighth places, although it was possibly his ninth place finish at Thruxton (fighting back after being forced off the road at the start) that remains his best drive to date…
Jackson said: “It’s been a tough decision to leave JamSport who have been excellent to me and who I believe have a great future in the Clio Cup. I wish them every good fortune for the remainder of the season and beyond.
“But I’ve decided to follow my gut instinct and go with Cooksport from now on – Josh Cook obviously brings with him a touring car way of thinking and I already know two of the team’s drivers, Paul Knapp and Rory Collingbourne, having raced alongside them in Fiestas in 2014.
“I’m now looking ahead to Oulton Park and working with the Cooksport team and further improving on my results from the opening rounds.
