Dan Holland and Thomas Grundy are confident of an upturn in form during the remainder of the Renault UK Clio Cup season following a strong test recently with their JamSport Racing team at Croft.

Both drivers tried a number of set-ups on their cars which had undergone extensive rebuilds during the summer break at JamSport’s workshops in Northampton.

Holland enthused: “Within three corners of leaving the pit lane the car felt transformed and that showed in our data and lap times when compared to what we did in the race event at Croft in June. The car feels the best it has felt since I’ve started driving it. The team have done a great job.”

And added Grundy: “It’s a huge confidence booster for us all. The car has never felt so good – suddenly it has a lot more go in it. A fantastic job by the team…”

Team Principal Sam Cotton said the test had also enabled JamSport’s engineers and its drivers to improve work ethic.

“I’m happy with how the day went – we got a lot of consistent running time which meant a lot of changes could be made and evaluated,” he said. Both drivers were able to increase their understanding of set-up, meaning more precise feedback and a quicker set-up change.

“The importance of the day was then quantified by both drivers managing to complete consistently fast lap times.”
