Felix has not raced since contesting the Clio Cup’s 2013 rounds at Rockingham with 20Ten when he rocketed from 24th on the grid to finish sixth. This weekend he will line up alongside Jordan Stilp and Graham Field (pictured together above) for the Derby-based squad.
Like Field the 45-year-old, a past title winner in MGs and Ford XR2s, will also be eligible to score points in the Clio Cup’s Masters Cup class for older drivers.
He commented: “It’s great to be back on the Clio Cup grid with a team I know well in 20Ten Racing – I want to return to the championship properly in the future as I see it really as the only place to be. I’ve no big goals for this weekend – I just want to have two good races and come away from the weekend knowing I did the best I could. It would be handy if I could tag on to the back of Jordan (who won twice at Croft 12 months ago) in Friday testing and qualifying on Saturday and see where it gets me…”
20Ten Team Principal Simon Hunt has high hopes for Felix, adding: “Firstly, it’s great to be back up to three cars – it’s how we started the season and where we want to be permanently. While this is a ‘one-off’ for now with Peter, let’s see how things progress.
“Peter on his day can be very fast. I think he could surprise a few people at Croft and it wouldn’t surprise me if he gets into the top six.”
