Gearbox

The Sadev six-speed sequential gearbox has been specifically designed for the motorsport version. It is fitted with a self-locking differential system with clutch discs and ramp pressure plates. Positioned right next to the steering wheel, the small gear lever enables very quick shifting, especially as an engine cut-out switch on the gearbox means there is no need to lift off the accelerator while moving up through the gears.

Relatively short gear ratios have been used to maximize responsiveness under acceleration rather than raise the maximum speed.

The hydraulically-controlled clutch mechanism is the same as on the production version although the clutch disc has been specifically designed.
