197 misfire

Hello Matt, It's quite difficult to have a strong opinion on a misfire from a distance - however i always use a standard approach: 1. Is the misfire constant? If yes it could be mechanical. If no, is it temperature or load related 2. Do you get any engine warning lamps? 3. Do you get any indication from the exhaust about unburnt fuel? A trip to someone who can operate some diagnostic equipment is sometimes the best option. Kind regards,

Engine swap problem

Hello Nicolas, you have some challenges ahead. The engine now installed will require a specific calibration which unless it accompanied the engine will need to be mapped on a rolling road. Its not the work of a moment and you'll also need an ECU which can be flashed. Plus with race camshafts the mechanical timing and valve overlap is crucial. Best of luck with your project i'm sure when complete it'll be very fast. Regards,

GTnav power steering

Hi, I have a 2016 Megane GTnav, I get the red spanner and "power steering fault" on the dash, the fault goes off below 20mph and is intermittent not constant meaning the dealers had problems activating it. After several attempts they did manage to activate the fault and they informed me it needed an ABS pump, this was eventually fitted but on returning home and ever since- the fault "power steering fault" now is on on nearly every trip. When I have had no warning lights for the ABS, why would the ABS pump be the problem for a power steering fault? Thank you Bobby

bobbyboy, 13th Sep 2018

GTnav power steering

Hello Bobby, I'm not certain on their diagnosis and clearly by the continued issues its not 100% effective. It is possible the ABS pump affected the original fault via the CAN line or CAN information as the ABS interface is normally the source of all wheel speed information however they need to revisit this issue. Please have Renault Customer Services support as necessary. Regards,

Lombard Rally 2018

Allen, I am sure you will not remember me but many years ago I helped support the Rally Team, BSCC Team and Williams F1 whilst working for Abbeydale looking after your support vehicles. This year is 120 years of Renault. I am participating in the Lombard Rally on October 19th / 20th in a Renault Alpine A110. The car has just had a nuts and bolts rebuild and the shell is now in its original works pristine white. The event is a Tour which means the route from Bath, Great Pultney Street, via Longleat, Cricket St Thomas, Winscombe Hill Climb, Porlock Toll Road has attracted many of the International and GB drivers of 40 years ago...all in period cars. The spectator interest has been extraordinary with 40,000 requests for information on the website. My question is this. It would be very nice to have some Renault promotion on the car, and maybe also a little bit of sponsorship to help us along. Can you put us in touch with whoever I should be talking to ....it maybe you even. The event has attracted television promised coverage. We are running at car 17. The event is a spectacle not a competitive event. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
