Hello, Is it battery related? Does the car open and engine crank as normal? Any warning lights or abnormal indicators?? Have you recently refuelled??

Hi Alan, I have a stripped out track Megane RS mk3 running an array of track mods. I have just ordered a new set of wheels & tyres from Demon Tweaks and although they have told me that the car will have no issues with the new size wheels I am unsure! I currently run the standard 18” x 8.25” ET65 RS wheels with 235 x 40 x18 track tyres, the car is fitted with KW Clubsports and is lowered within the parameters stated by KW, the car is also running approx -3 dog camber at the front and -2deg to the rear. The new wheels are Team Dynamics Pro race 1.3 18” x 8.5” ET 45, I have worked it out if I’m correct that the new wheels will sit approx 23.5mm further out towards the arch than the standard wheel. I appreciate that this will to a certain extent put more pressure on bearings etc and it will probably make the steering slightly heavier but I’m hoping that that is the only issues and that the car should Corner better and should stay flatter through the bends owing to the extra width? Please could you comment and give me your advice. Many thanks, Regards, Nick

Hello Nick, Some reasonable changes there. It's hard to predict whether the new wheels will cause the tyres to foul the bodywork. If they do i suspect you might have to roll the inside edge of your bodywork to create greater clearance. Best wishes,

I have an old Megane with the F3R motor, I would like to know more about the valvetrain and ticking noises coming from the motor, it has noticeably less power below 4000 RPM and has a ticking noise at all temps that match engine rpm in timing as well. The tapping isnt as loud when you're not accelerating though.
Dino Gaggia, 2nd Nov 2018
Hello Dino, If you are getting noise from the valve gear it could be clearances due to worn buckets/followers. Regards,

2010 model Megane 250 Cup, has done 56,000 miles. I heard a slight whining noise changing consistently with road speed, not engine speed. Main dealer mechanic had car on the ramp, and we heard a "clicking" from the front wheels when turned by hand. I am told this is a sign of a failed or failing differential, requiring a new gearbox. Car has not been abused! Is this likely to be correct and a not unknown fault, or am I just unlucky?
James, 6th Oct 2018
Hello James, I'd suggest you are unlucky and should reach out to Renault Customer Services for their support. Regards,

Bernie, 25th Sep 2018
Hello Bernie, i'd suggest getting a Renault retailer to change the battery - however if you would like to proceed with this yourself you will find the instructions inside the user manual. Regards,
