As I was in there today, just thought I'd give these guys a mention again.

First class service as always, and plenty of lovely machinery being worked on, including two Clio V6, a Clio Trophy, an Alpine and two 250 Cup's, one of which was mine

They may not have the dolly bird on reception, the flash waiting area and the coffee machine etc. but they have what is most important to me as a Renaultsport owner, total knowledge of everything Renaultsport and years of experience working in Renault Motorsport.

There isn't anything Paul, Andy and the team don't know about fast Renaults, I first went there with my Clio 16v and then Williams in the early 90's, wouldn't take my car anywhere else.

Couldn't agree more, my 200 goes nowhere else. They support a lot of Clio cup race teams and my soon to be father in law bought his Clio cup racers from them back in the 90's when I think they were called radbourne racing.

They seem to have shut up shop. On the service side anyway.

I called during August when they were 'closed for refurbishment' and spoke to a guy who said "I don't really know what's happening, the powers at be will decide if we open on Saturdays, but a gearbox oil change shouldn't be a problem on a weekday morning. We can turn you around fast as the oil will be nice and hot when you arrive first thing. Call back in September when we're done with the refurb".

So I called the number I had. Got a message saying the new number is 020 8286 6052. So I rang that and got a recorded message stating "R-Sport servicing has closed. Your nearest Renault service agents are Renault London, Wilsons of Epsom and Renault Croydon. If you wish to contact the motorsport department please email r_sport_uk@hotmail.com or call 07990 520 010".

Perhaps they'll service RenaultSport cars and just can't be bothered with bogo Renaults. Who knows. It seems to just be a motorsport shop now.

Following on from above, as some may already know, R-Sport have now closed their service department and moved out of their unit in Wimbledon. R-Sport will continue, but will only be supplying motorsport parts from now on.

I’ve been using R-Sport and before that Radbourne Racing (before they became R-Sport) since the early 90’s. This is a real shame as no other dealer I’ve used over the years has ever come close in terms of knowledge and expertise when it comes to fast Renaults.

The good news to come out of all this is that main mechanic Andrew Cochrane, will be setting up himself as an independent Renaultsport specialist. He started at Radbourne Racing in 1992 as an apprentice and as I mentioned in this thread earlier, actually worked on my Clio 16v and then my Williams all that time ago! So he was Radbourne Racing from 1992 and then R-Sport from 2000 up until last month. He is a Renault RTE (Renault technical expert ) and now called Master tech since 2002, he has many years experience working on all Renaults, in particular Renaultsport models and motorsport, working on and preparing the Clio Cup cars etc.

He is in the process of sorting himself out with a new unit, which he hopes to have up and running by the end of the year, but in the meantime he is working out of another unit not far from the old R-Sport premises, in fact he actually fitted two new front shocks to my car last week.

Anyone that knows me knows how particularly fussy I am when it comes to my car and I can honestly say I wouldn’t want anyone else working on my Renaultsport. He is an honest, genuinely good bloke and his work is of the highest standard.

Hi guys. I know I'm resurrecting this thread, but what's the situation with Andy Cochrane? Has he now set up shop and operating? Would love a RS guy in London. Masters of Beckenham are local to me but not sure I trust them yet and I'm sure they won't want to start tuning and tweaking my 197...
