Renault Group and Gravity Motorsports S.a.r.l., an affiliate of Genii Capital SA, are pleased to announce the signature of a Letter of Intent regarding the potential acquisition by Renault of a controlling stake in Lotus F1 Team Ltd. The signature of this Letter of Intent marks Renault’s first step towards the project of a Renault Formula 1 team from the 2016 racing season thereby extending 38 years of commitment of the brand to world’s premier motorsport championship series. Renault Group and Gravity will work together in the coming weeks to eventually turn this initial undertaking into a definitive transaction provided all terms and conditions are met between them and other interested parties. Awesome. Let's hope that Renault can get the engine sorted out and stick two fingers up to Red Bull!

Will it be Lotus-Renault or just Renault?
Very good news for the employees maybe not for Maldanado.

Hope it all comes together. Lotus not been able use their hospitality unit was a bit of a joke, sky (I think) said it was over 29 grand, which you would think Bernie or a rival team would have just paid for them! F1 journo providing a bit more info suggesting if it all pans out Renault F1 will have a budget of $250 million next year which should be enough to cover the Maldonado repairs and run a decent team. https://joesaward.wordpr.../28/notebook-from-japan/

Shame cigarette advertising was banned, brought in loads of £s in sponsorship and produced some great livery's.

Alcoholic drinks sponsorship or advertising is still allowed in F1(for now)along with non offensive products. Who remembers the 1976 Surtees & the 1981 ATS supported by a Swedish singing group.

I didn't realise Tyrrel had a Xena Warrior Princess tie up just before they went bust.

If you cross the pond you'll find a weird world of motorsport sponsors in North America and south, saying that around the world there are loads of odd sponsorship deals.

Massive opportunity now to take advantage of the entirely senior management inflicted issues down the road at Milton Keynes and poach some of Red Bull's Key personnel. First off, there are some great people down there who are in a bit of limbo due to Red Bull's management incompetence. Secondly, it's a good way to twit the knife into the organisation & it's senior management!

Be interesting to see how water tight Maldonado's contract is now.
