What's the best Renault you've driven on track?
|
I see loads of Clio but know that, for example, current Megane's are the fastest but if you have driven more than one model, which did you think was the best? I love my RS265 but its a big heavy beast on track but fast.

Driven a Trophy R which was pretty good, but had more fun in my Clio Trophy

Have to say that now I am used to it the 200 Trophy is the most fun. Not as quick as the Meganes (or some Clio's) but does the biz for me.

200 with Cup chassis.
Most want a go in a 275 Trophy r and most surprised by the pace of well driven 133s on track.
I'd give up limbs to have a go in an RS01, Current and last gen Clio cup racer!!

history: clio 182 FF, megane R26, megane R26.R, Clio mk3 200 ff cup I have driven the megane 275 cup S on track. 1) R26.R for all out pace and agility 2) Clio 200 FF cup- down on power but a riot to drive. Edited by user 29 September 2016 11:33:16(UTC)

I've driven a 200, 200t, 220trophy Megane 250, 265, 275 cup S, 275 trophy R and my Clio 182. My favourite is my Clio but it is modified to suit track use so a bit unfair but apart from that the Trophy R is a fantastic car it is just so easy to drive fast.

Have tried out a 275 cup s, 200T and 220T on Renaultsport days and all good cars, but not enough time in them.for me to get to grips with and properly understand them.
For me I love my 200 cup on track as you need to push really hard to stand a chance of keeping up with meganes etc. Was great fun overtaking some meganes at Spa on Monday!

I've driven many !! Currently have a 275 cup s, but my clio 200 cups were my faves. The 275 is fast, handles really well..but you can feel the bulk in the car . The clio 200 may be fairly under powered, but handles that power better than pretty much anything. The Megane will get you round a corner faster, but the 200 makes you feel more at one with the corner.
If any of that makes sense !! Anyone wanna swap their 200 for my 275 ??

I'm slightly biased but my R26.R is still (6years later) my favourite car on track, and I have drove and owned a lot of cars capable on track but by far the R26.R still brings a smile on my face with what its capable of!

R26R, excellent on track, then R26 (288/310, and now Clio 197, with Megane 250 engine,225 box, running 320/340. The KC club sport suspension on the Clio, is for me, better than the R26R, but thats just me. I did have at one time, a Mitsi EVo FQ 400, with over 600bhp, but prefer any of the Renaults that i have owned. Edited by user 12 November 2016 21:45:20(UTC)

Good question.... My order: 1. R26.R - will never tire of driving mine on track, keeps up with other cars it has no right to 2. Twinge RS - very playful at the rear, 133bhp has never been more entertaining 3. 182 Trophy - sublime turn in and balance 4. 200 Cup - makes you feel like you're almost a racing driver, very rewarding to drive 5. 250 Cup - very accomplished on track, tail will waggle if required 6. 175 dci - taken my commute slag on track the once but was surprisingly satisfying and still gave 22 mpg I did drive a Clio 200 Cup racer briefly at Spa at a JPRS day a few years ago and that was other-worldly with slick tyres and sequential gearbox. Anyone at Snetterton for the MSVT day this Saturday? Edited by user 15 November 2016 05:53:31(UTC)

Nice selection of Renaultsports. I'll be at Silverstone this Sunday and at Snetterton in a few weeks with Open track (mid week).

R26.R for me, although Ph1 172 was a good crack!
