Yes, I had the same thoughts. Massive tuning potential too, 140 BHP increase from just a map.

Sounds pretty good doesn’t it.

I was going to cancel due to not loving any of the colours, but since I read the reviews am back on track.
Changed the colour to Hokenheim Silver.
Delivery still likely March.

It does! I think your making the right choice to keep the order.

I was on the configurator yesterday and I didn’t realise how terrible the choice of colours still was for the competition - I thought it was meant to have been expanded. I normally like blue but can’t stand the turquoise one that carries over from the standard M2. Out of all of them I think I would pick the orange and I don’t normally like oramge. The silver is new, so I would be interested to see what that looks like though.

Colour choice is woefully inadequate for a car like this.

I’m going to see the silver in person when the cars start arriving September / October time then decide between it and Sunset Orange.

It appears there are some sizable 10% plus discounts to be had on the M2 Comp now which imo makes it very attractive indeed.

You have to wonder though if this broad spectrum discounting by BMW is doing them any favours long term. Apparently some people are getting circa 25% off of the outgoing M3 which looks even better value.

Outgoing M3 now illegal to be sold new I believe due to WLTP, probably why discounts were so high as BMW needed to get rid.

Pull the sprogs out of private school and get it bought, they won't thank you in the long run and may even encourage them in the wrong direction if you know what I mean 😬😆

Haha, I won't tell how much I paid in fees this term.......

To be fair I really want one but it would be too similar to my M3, which I love!

A mate of mine pays just under 12k per annum to send his little cherub to a private primary school.

They subsequently haven't got a pot to p1ss in and are scratching around like a couple of frenzied chickens trying to make ends meet 😟

My boy was bunged through the state system and he is now running his own very successful electrical engineering company with very little help from me I would add.

Remember the old adage 'the cream always comes to the top' 😎

£12k is relatively cheap........

I agree that the best will probably rise to the top anyway, but it can't harm to give them every opportunity possible.

Haven't been on here for a while as I moved from the 265 Trophy to a Golf R about two and a half years ago. The R has been a great capable machine let down by a poor local dealer.

I usually look at changing every 3 years so was getting together a shortlist. Had got as far as adding the Focus RS the Megane RS and the Type R to the list when I started looking at M2's

The Competition was very tempting but I couldn't get a deal to fit my budget, however after quite a bit of haggling I have just put a deposit down on 6 month old very low mileage N55 LCI M2 which I am hoping to pick up towards the end of the month.

To say that I can't wait would be a massive understatement 😎
