Hi guys,

I am out in South Africa, I've just picked up my new Renault Megane R.S 280 Lux.

Sometimes when I switch off and lock the car the cooling fans stay on for a while, if I re-enter the car and start it and turn it off, the fans stop.

I've spoken to Renault here and they say that this is normal as the car is quite sensitive to humidity and temperature etc.

Just wanted to find out from anyone else if their Megane R.S does this, maybe not cause of the colder temperatures in the UK.

Thanks

Normal, engine cooling fans can sometimes stay on for up to 30 minutes depending on engine temps and climatic conditions.
I imagine that you would notice this more in South Africa than we would in the UK especially in height of summer.

Normal. Same here. Sometimes giving it long travel, cooling fan could take 10-15 minutes running.
