Spare wheel and Jack for my Megane 275 trophy
|
Hi guys, I have a Megane 275 Trophy on 19-inch Turini Speedline wheels, I only have the inflation kit and I'm now after a jack kit and spare wheel Ive just purchased a jack and 19mm brace of eBay (this one) http://www.ebay.co.uk/it...189e557e9bcca0c&cp=1I now need a wheel for the car. Do I need the wheel of a grand espace as the space saver off the car is 17" as the front discs and brembo's seem quite large on the 275 so I need a wheel to fit over the disc and calliper. Any help appreciated. Edited by user 01 May 2016 14:35:34(UTC)

Any help appreciated. I had a 275 Nav. the official book said that the spare wheel would only fit the rear wheels and in the event of a front wheel puncture , put a rear wheel,on the front and the spare on the back. By this time I had lost the will to live and sold the car!!! Edited by user 01 May 2016 15:37:26(UTC)

I wouldn't like to try putting 275bhp through a space saver wheel anyway so it's not exactly a huge issue switching the rear to the front. At least it will drive, steer and stop with two full size fronts.

Aren't the bolts 17mm? I'm definitely using a 17mm socket on mine.

Will the rear compartment fit one of the 19" rims ? As I was thinking of getting a spare 19" like my car has on already.

As above, from factory as an option they are a space saver and only fit on the rear.
It's a 17" space saver wheel.
I have one in my Megane 275.

For anyone who already has the space saver or anyone thinking of getting one.
The original wheel bolts are no good for the steel space saver wheel - there are instructions on the space saver to use plain bolts -but no one reads these instructions until it's too late

Good info, luckily never had to use mine. Is there some plain bolts within the spare as it's not much use otherwise...well unless the AA bloke changing it has some

They don't supply any plain bolts with a Renault supplied spare wheel - I managed to salvage a set of plain bolts from the ones removed to fit locking bolts to my previous 6 cars.
I know the RS Megan wheel bolts are fitted with rings to help prevent the wheels being scratched but the plain bolts I found were from my previous RS Clios

I've just got my jack and your correct it is 17mm, I also purchased a spacesaver wheel off eBay, I took a chance and ordered a 17" spacesaver off a grand espace but it won't fit!!!! It won't fit over the centre of the hub, does anybody know if there's another wheel option for a spare as I don't want to pay main stealer price for a spare wheel. I'll post the question in a new thread just incase I get more response that way.
