There is only one question, Why?

Marketing regarding out going model & the new Clio V
Is it going to be replaced with another championship like Alpine A110 (to costly) yet to be annouced

Or is it just a natural end as stated?

To many question with no answers

That's a shame.

It would seem Renault, after the departure of Jeremy, have given up on the UK in terms of the RS product.

that looks pretty underwhelming.... 1.3 engine really? Maybe Ruk made a good decision.

Yes,1.3 does sound a bit lacking in the power department, but apparently the new 1.3 is very responsive to upgrades and it is possible to get very near the 200 mark.

If it was possible, you’d have thought that they would have made the race car produce that

According to Motorsport news, Renault Sport are looking into the possibility of running the new Clio in the UK but not part of the BTCC package.
At present they are gauging interest.

My prediction for the future of a Clio RS now that a championship in the UK has been announced, is that over the next couple of years the other championships around the globe will adopt the 1.3 turbo variant which will eventually evolve in to more powerful machinery with the aid of hybrid assist technology as & when the road car evolves then becoming a full on EV championship by 2025/2026 which by then the Clio name would have been dropped from the product range after 30 years

Ultimo championship any one?

Good to see. As it’s a one make series the engine power is fairly irrelevant as everyone has the same. The chassis set up, support and driving talent will decide the front runners.

Good if it reverts back to the old Renault series which clubbers and drivers competed in for fun rather than the well heeled youngsters with Touring Car aspirations that it became in the past few years.
Only down side is the cars lack of power means their sell on value wont be so great as they will only be any use in the one make series unlike the past 2 generations which were quick race cars in their own right that could be competitive in other series.
Note that Renault UK are not supporting this new series though.
