I like the looks in that pic in white. Of course looks are subjective.
The performance certainty isn't anonymous, 280hp and 420nm, anti lag, proper mechanical LSD, adaptive dampers, fantastic.
Rich times for petrol hot hatch enthusiasts, the next batch of new model hot hatches in approx 7 years time might not be as exciting for my tastes

Interesting to see the new Focus ST go around a slightly damp Llandow circuit at the hands of a journalist, Matt Prior, faster than either an ex racing driver could get the Megane R.S around the same circuit in better weather conditions on Lovecars, and faster than Tiff Needell could manage in the Megane also. And then pop it in Normal when stuck in traffic on the way home from the circuit and enjoy proper ride quality, unlike the Renault.

So much for all the Renault fan boys on here calling the ST a 'warm' hatch before it was released, faster to 100km/h, faster through the gears, and faster around a lap too 😂😂 if the Ford is warm, the poor Renault must be lukewarm

The Megane R.S didn't even score on this weeks Autocar magazine group test when it went up against the ST, Type R etc. Oh dear, it's a thumbs down for Renault then

The Focus did very well with a good lap time but was still beaten by the Type R in that test:

If ride quality and adjustability with adaptive damping is the priority then the current Megane is not for you. I don’t totally right off the Megane 280/300 as it does some good stuff but the Trophy is constantly nailed by the Type R and Pistonheads summed it up well here:

It’s a gap Renault could close and even get the hot hatch crown back with a bit more effort and maybe the 2020 Megane revisions will be more than just cosmetic and we get some more tasty stuff like Öhlins, lightweight kit, a bit more power etc.

A group hot hatch road test and a good result for the Ford. Plus the Hyundai always seems to be a great drive.
