As above genuine question.

I visited here in the first place to get information on the latest Renaults and info on older models. I also came here to find out about local meets and runs out.

I now visit more out of habit more than anything and find the info I was looking for more on Facebook, 197.net, and Renaultsportclub.co.uk.

So what made you visit here in the first place and what do you get from here now?

To give honest opinions on the car(s) they drive

Giving feedback on how good/bad the car may be

Talk about other marques too

Not to get overly over the top defensive if your car comes under any kind of criticism

Yea I joined to get info/advice on the 200 when I bought one 4/5 years ago.

Still seems there is always someone about should you need some advice on something RenaultSport related.

Tbh when I 1st signed up I had no idea about the forum it's was more the current range and specs I was looking for as I was a Cliosport.net person. It took me a good 12 month's till I discovered the forum side of the webpage. That is when I met the Yorkshire crew nearly 6 years ago now and got to know everyone really well to the point where we are today. There's also people further a field we've become friends with when we've had joint meets with other regions and shows. I use the forum to help with event and share my photos of these events too. Also on my ttime here got to know some good people and Sales, Parts and Body shop's around the Renault dealerships that offer the group good discounts on all sorts of stuff which is good for us and them :)

I joined when I bought my R26.R (my first and only Renault to date) to share experiences, a few track videos and gain other perspectives on the car and some mild upgrades likes pads and discs. In many track sessions I never actually saw another R26.R on track.

I'm back because I'd have loved a Trophy-R but so far no luck and I'm far to wise to fall in the trap of chasing lost causes (one of Ariel, Lotus or Porsche will benefit as my next track toy decisions, decisions). I'd have driven the wheels off the -R it too not kept it for best or future value.

How do I find the forum, honestly pretty quiet like most others these days, then the usual mix of some sense, some well humoured banter and the odd troll (if the post is aimed to make you bite ignore it is the general rule). All that said the build up to the Trophy-R lap was genuinely exciting and the Forza 5 Laps with marc_250 (thank you sir, and applause for your final time) were a reminder just occasionally a forum does provide some genuine like minded entertainment.

Came on to find the best tyre for my meg 225 and stayed as the banter was great.

Still come on now as its habitual and, though I don't have a Renaultsport at the minute, I love the brand (and I'llbe back in one very soon hopefully).

As Craig above, I wish the school playground/points scoring/saying unnecessary things you probably wouldn't say face to face would stop and just get back to having a proper laugh...

It probably does. But when you're in a pub, you just ignore the load-mouthed idiot that's talking very loudly on the next table. It's just like that......

Believe me its no worse than being the owner of a 200 Gordini (with blue wheels) - in the end you become immune.

I originally joined up to to find out about buying a 250 and then got involved with promoting BLG. And with a bit of luck I will be able to promote my next venture.

I came on here to get a feel for the type of person that owns an RS car. I saved £7500 for a deposit for a Liquid Yellow EDC Clio and instead have just witnessed people fight like cat and dog, and ridicule the new car. I utterly believe my local RS Specialists at Rawlinson when they say that the Getrag auto transmission is the future, and the dampers are again technology that is far beyond it's competitors.

I want to take part in the track days with other Renault enthusiasts, I come from a strong list of Japanese and German cars and it's taken a lot to convinced myself the Clio is the car I want...but then see people on here moaning about it makes me think..perhaps my money's spent better elsewhere

could that be the "people" that don't actually own a 200t by any chance???

Been a few of us on here criticised and ridiculed defending the rs brand....

the rs bashing goes too far but when you bash a jerman car..well its just not on!

Yeah you're absolutely right a lot of the negativity comes from people that don't own the car. There's a delightful character on here that is incredibly forward with his opinions on the car, and seemingly owns a lotus. Why are people that have no plans on buying one so intent on destroying it's reputation?

a side note, can i ask why you have a Fiesta ST as your display picture? Did you opt for an ST in the end?

RS track days are excellent, and when they have finished for the year a few of us get together and try a few tracks around the UK.

For track days get a Megane RS or Fiesta ST with Mountune. Seriously.
