I don't think any posts have been removed - which thread was it in?

I have mentioned this before, if moderators are deleting post or moving them a quick pm to explain why would avoid similar posts being made in the future.

Yep if anything is ever removed a message to the person it was posted by must be done. Ive always done this as a moderator it save's it being splashed all over the forum and causing problems.

Is that a RS Forum rule for Mods?

It has been on other forums ive worked on. It diffuses the problem rather then making it public so everyone can jump on the band wagon.

No, it is not a forum rule as it would be unmanageable. Often people are PM'd though when posts are removed.

Wasn't aware of any post removed Tom, what was it? Sometimes if you quote someone and the original post is deleted then yours may automatically be deleted, but that is impossible to trace and pm'ing people just isn't a sensible approach. Surely a quick scan through the thread can give you a reason why it is deleted.

On the topic of deleting posts, we do try and pm people as much as possible, but lets be grown up about this, if you've posted something that is likely to offend, even in the slightest, then you don't need to be Sherlock Holmes to work out why it has been removed...

think some of this arises from when in the "past" stuff was posted by certain ones that was offensive and wasn't deleted...but now it is/or is being removed so the question has been asked (probably)

As you know Si, as a moderating team we are stamping out any offensive posts as soon as we see them/are notified.

However, it's not that hard to not be offensive to people face to face, if people were just like that online a lot of issues would just simply not arise (not aimed at yourself by the way, just a general society observation across online platforms)

This is why I don't drink, I'm now pretty sure I imagined it....
