Now that Grosjean has signed for Haas he has a better chance of staying.

Jean Eric Vergne to make a comeback?

Reports of Button, (albeit Daily Mirror)but he has already said Mclaren or nothing but never know... Jolyon Palmer would be better than Maldonado. Other than the French connection, I don't understand the hype with JEV.

Alonso back to his beloved Enstone for the third time?

The biggest question is if Red Bull / Torro Rosso will remain in F1. They will not be able to win as I doubt Mercedes or Ferrari will provide them the latest version of engine.

Isn't the crash test dummy's contract with "Lotus Mercedes" - a team that technically no longer exists?

I tell you what Renault needs to do now as an absolute priority. It absolutely needs to get Relentless, or Monster Energy as title sponsor to troll the spoilt Austrain brats!

Maldonado's contract with lotus is exactly my point of bring water tight. I can't imagine contracts like this are subject to Tupi rulings so hopefully he's out in his ear. Maybe the FIA will take him on for the NCAP tests.

They'll want his cash. Hopefully the other driver can deliver the results.

Do Renault REALLY need his cash? It's a manufacturer team, not Manor.
If Renault are holding out for his cash, they've lost face already and indicates they're only in F1 for the sake of it, not in it to win.
How much money and resources are lost repairing his cars?
How much money do they lose in lost points and championship standings?
Surely the money gained is considerably less at the end of the year.

Maldonado's personal sponsorship with PDVSA will clash with Renault's long standing partnership with Elf/Total. In all seriousness, I don't see how that can be resolved with him in the car. Jolyon Palmer, as GP2 Champ absolutely deserves the seat. It's criminal that someone of his abilities is on the side lines.

Team Colour scheme? Liquid Yellow with Black Detailing please. Like the RS.01 Prototype.

Doubt it. That would just be wooden dollars.

It was a bit naff, lotus should have done it themselves. There was zero identity with what the road cars do and the team.

Black and gold is one of the all time great colour combos in a livery. It is not naff.

it is indeed jps or for those that don't know john player special ie fags Tongue

Jps looked great on both cars and Norton bikes.

Looked even better on the ford Capri Cool Cool Cool

The bbc did a interview with one of the head guys running the lotus team and confirmed that Maldonado would drive if Renault took over, one of the conditions was over Renault taking over was that a agreement was in place that both sponsor where happy. Maybe one car will run total and the other elf.

With 'Lotus', sadly, disappearing from the paddock the Black/Gold livery will yet again be consigned to history.
Personally I always preferred the Gold Leaf of the 70's but that will not reappear either.

Will be interesting to see what Renault consider to be the corporate colours this time around.

You couldn't make it up. Ferrari won't supply Red Bull. Mercedes have also said no. Red Bull are now having to consider keeping Renault engines next year!

Red Bull has had a bit of disaster regarding engine manufacturer relationships...Publicly slagging of Renault and stating they want Mercedes engines first was never going to endear them to their second choice Ferrari....

If I was Renault I'd carry on supplying RedBull and Torro Rosso (if they want) for 2016 even at the high risk of them beating the works outfit just to bring in as much £s and develop as much as possible for 2017.

How on earth is Christian Horner still in a job? They guy has slagged his Engine Supplier off so badly that he's alienated Mercedes & Ferrari as well. Add to that, he's lost his Star Driver, his Title Sponsor (Infiniti) and jeopardised the very existence of not one but two Formula 1 teams!

What an idiot!
