Hi guys,

Would anyone know if the shift beep on your megane if volume adjustable? Can you turn the beep up or down at all?

Can it be switched off entirely?

I don't have a car yet, am on the hunt, so just wondering.

Sort of I think. On the RenaultSport monitor you can select how many rpm before red lines the beep comes in and I think if you set it to 0 then no beep. So you must have the RS Monitor and I guess it only disables the beep when it's active. This is with the v1 monitor no clue on v2.

Cheers guys. Yeah it's a 275 trophy with the monitor, managed to set the beep further back last night. Still think I'm slightly deaf, find it much quieter than the clio 200?!

It could be a lot louder - when on track with a helmet on, I can't hear it at all!

Having never driven a car with a shift beep, I can't help but think I'd find it anything other than intensely annoying, that said, I do like having shift lights. Not because I consciously use them to tell me when to change up, but it's useful to have on the edge of vision as a reminder when on track and you're trying to squeeze an extra few hundred revs out of a gear.

What do people who have the shift beeps think? Annoying, or useful to have as that last CHANGE UP NOW OR HIT THE LIMITER! reminder?

Useful in the Clio 200 mk3 as all the power is high up the revs and the noise difference from 6k & above isn't easy to gauge the revs.

I always found them useful in the Clio & Megane. Easier than a light on the dash I would have thought.

Never found them annoying..
