Bought my new ( ex Demo ) RS 275 Cup-S on Friday from supposed RS specialist John Banks in Cambridge with only 4500 miles and 6 months old.

Well when I first enquired about the car I was told by all the sales staff including the supposed RS specialist it didn't have Ohlins or Arkamys stereo but it does , so they have been running a demo for six months and didn't know it had £3000 worth of suspension upgrade !!!! It's laughable really that a dealer doesn't know what spec it's demo is.

I've also been having tyre issues over the last few days with the car feeling fidgety on B roads , well checked the pressures and they were all wrong , lowered them and the car is a little better but anyway thought I would jack the car up and take a look and yes you guessed it both fronts are badly worn on the inner edges almost bald😕 to cut a long story short John Banks won't do anything about it and said " that's just the way it is " .

So moral of the story is avoid John Banks like the plague , their product knowledge is shocking , the prep standards equally shocking and the after sales service appalling .
I've complained to Renault UK so will see what happens now.Evil

Surely a dealer selling a car where the tyres are dangerously worn is grounds for legal action.

Yes I would say so but I am allowing Renault UK to attempt to get this resolved amicably before I take any further action.

I know we are arguing about £275 for two tyres and a four wheel alignment check but that's not the point. It's the principle of an RS dealer clearly having very little knowledge and also preparing the car poorly and in my view unsafely.

Sorry to hear about that Nelic. Can I just confirm you're already in touch with our Customer Relations team or would you like me to get them to call you?

Well now I know what has caused the alignment to be knocked out and prematurely wear the front tyres out.

I peeled back the red rubber rim protector on all of the wheels to look for damage and low and behold the near side front rim is badly damaged from a heavy kerbing.

Exactly for the price of £275 a dealer is willing to risk customer safety and reputation

I think it shows you how tight margins are in this sector.

I think he's bought a used car and not new so blemishes are part n parcel.
Tyres on the other hand are a different matter.
Hope you get sorted

So two new Bridgestone RE050A's fitted with a full alignment check and now the Ohlins are set up fully soft so 20 clicks front and 30 on the rear the car feels transformed !!

No twitchyness at all on any road surface and now I feel confident in the cars ability.

The difference from when I collected it to now is simply huge and I cannot believe it left a dealer like thisConfused

Rant over but I'm £368 worse off and I shouldn't be.

But anyway time to finally start enjoying this amazing carBig Smile
