It's also gained a bit of weight though and the motor out the M3/4 is known for been a bit 'meh', at least from a sound pov.

Sure it'll be a great car though, be good if they could do something a bit more special with the seats than the last one.

The M2 Competition sounds a nice car. Don’t expect 1M residuals though. For those, perhaps the M3 CS May rise to the front eventually, but it’s off to a high list price initially

Meh compared to the 4l V8, but most cars do to be fair. The 3l straight six still sounds OK.

Yes this new M2 Comp does look very appealing, I really want to get back into a proper Hot Hatch next though and the new Megane looks favourite at the moment for my new car.

What about dropping £86k on a M3 CS, that's a lot of money!!

The CS will not hold its money much better than a Comp Pack, massive discounts can already be had on them, not special enough imo, wouldn't say no at a £5k premium over a CP thoughBig Smile

Something about the M4 proportions I don’t gel with.
Think it’s that it’s too long.

I know what you mean, much prefer the M3 when they are both in standard guise - it just looks so much more aggressive.

I bet that'll go down well with existing gts/dtm owners. Be awesome if they could actually get it to match/or get close to the performance of a GT3 etc.

So, went in to our local BMW today and had a drive in a manual M2. Great car to drive, I must say. Seating position, steering, suspension, acceleration just all seems to gel. Looks and sounds great too.
Ended up placing an order for a manual M2 Competition in Sunset Orange.
Delivery likely to be March. My return to Renault will be but a fleeting one.

Nice. Did they give any discount?

None, however they will discount if the finance apr is higher upon delivery to maintain the monthly payment offered.

It sounds like they have better range of colours for the competition if orange was available. For the standard M2 they were dreadful.

So what spec did you choose?

Great tuning potential too with the competition having the M3/4 engine. 520+BHP with just a map.

Fairly basic.
Sunset Orange, Manual, M2 Plus Pack.
Will potentially add a couple of the less “in your face” M Performance tweaks and will likely get a different set of wheels for summer and use the ones that come with the car for winter.

Not 100% on the colour yet, so may switch to Hokenheim Silver, but have a few months to work that out.

Nice, very desirable car. Looking at the options list it's surprisingly light. I'd go the same spec but would be tempted at the upgraded brakes if they are visibly different...massive calipers do look the part. What does the M Drivers Package add beside removing the limiter? If it improves chassis dynamics I'd go with that as well.

If it is the carbon ceramic brakes then the calipers are gold. Looks better than it sounds.

The new M2 gets a great review from Pistonheads.

autocar (although arguably the same publication these days) like it to.

Could see a used one as an option for myself in a couple of years time.
