Hi All

My RS Twingo 133 Gordini has developed an odd fault.

When cornering hard to the left, the brake warning light ((!)) and stop lights (STOP) flash on briefly and a tone sounds. This seems to happen when accelerating out of a corner not braking into it.
To be clear, the ABS or ESC lights are not coming on at these times.

Any Ideas ??

Tom

The handbook says that it's warning you that either the brake fluid level is low or there is a brake circuit fault

I would check the brake fluid level first, especially if the pads are worn.

Thanks for replies

Yes, I read that in the handbook and checked brake fluid before posting question.
The Brake fluid level in the tank looks ok to me.
But I was just wondering what sort of Brake circuit fault might cause this before I take the car to local mechanic, ideally I'd leave it until the next service.

i have this regularly - usually happens when the front pads are slightly more than half worn and the fluid level drops enough, the surge in fluid running to the front of the bottle drops the float just enough to set the sensor off and light the dash up with a beep under heavy braking which was worrying the first time it happened.

if the fluid level is even lower ie. all pads are more worn then it will trigger on corners too.

Hope that helps.
