Hi All,

Had my Clio RS200 Lux since new.. however has anyone installed a dash cam?? I would like one that you don’t notice and looks like it is meant to be there.

No, but when I get my new RS at the end of the year I will be having a Blackvue (front and rear) professionally installed. They are the dogs knackers.

Check ‘em out.

Not sure yet, likely to be an authorised installer from their website though.

Halfords do dashcam setup bundle so I went with them for a budget one (Novatek), you can see it right next to the mirror but that's the point, I want cars at front to be aware of it. I'm also tempted to get a red one to match with the interior red seat belts.

In my last car however, I had a discreet one called A118C (B40/A118).

It was a Q-car so I needed it, here a good write up on it:

I personally installed for peace of mind, in case of accident I don't want to go dispute if I have the evidence of if someone hit and run the cam automatically records even with ignition off.

As above, there are so many bad drivers and ‘cash for crash’ scams that I want evidence should anything happen. The Blackvue I am going to have installed also detects motion around the car and records to the cloud so should anyone mess about with the car whilst parked it should be captured too.

Sad what the UK has become.

World change to remain the same..I've grown thick skinned seeing all these happening over the years but the one that consistently happens is sitting at the traffic and car (mostly vans) will jump front of you without signalling.

I never make eye contact or honk to avoid any trouble because of things like this

Your problem will be solved once the UK gets rid of senseless "no win no fee" litigation.

I've checked around and although it's legal to have dash cams / cameras (like GoPro) here in Germany, it's illegal to upload them onto the internet showing other car number plates. The Police actually look for this and force removal of such videos or will prosecute.

Mine wouldn’t be uploaded to the internet, would be for the police and insurer only.

Again not here in DE. I've heard the Police aren't interested in footage from private cams.
Just another world.

I've been using an A119 dashcam in my Clio from new. The only problem is the GPS mount doesn't always work correctly, and finally this week my cable gave up the ghost after being plugged in/unplugged so many times, so I'll need to re-wire it this weekend.

I'm thinking of installing a dashcam. I was going to fit the A119 but this looks even better.

Techmoan - Finally! A good & affordable Front & Rear 1080p DashCam

Has anyone found a suitable ignition switched live feed in the headling near the rear view mirror, or one in the dashboard? I want to permanently wire mine in rather than have leads and power plugs on display.

I haven't touched the rear view mirror feed, but it's very easy to hide a cable along the trim a roof lining and have it pop out just above the camera.

The awkward bit is finding a ground (all the screws around the dash seem to be plastic into foam). I ended up clamping a cable to the fuse box housing itself.
