Just shows how weak that side of the draw is when dross like England can get to the semi-final.

They’re playing well as a team. Good luck to them.

No chips, I’m actually part English and certainly not against England winning games of football, but had England been in the other side of the draw they would have been dumped out long ago.
I enjoy relatively impartial viewing and hope football wins.
It has on the better side of the draw and have to hope that the winner comes from there.

Admittedly you can only beat what’s put in front of you, but still doesn’t make it any less grim.
Reality check greatly required down south.

England are in the semi finals of the World Cup. Nothing about the groups, draws or teams matters.

Fair play to them.

Have to agree, I was at the final in '66 and remember it well but I have no recollections of who we actually played to get there.
What lives in the memory is the result.

Reckon we should get past Croatia but either France or Belgium will be the greatest test.

Win or lose they have done wonders for the feel-good factor in the UK.

Didn't realise you were that old Del. As for me it was on B&W TV round at a family friend's house as we had no TV then.

Yep, 1948 (71st Year) - Baby boomer and member of the Golden Generation.
Child of the 60's - Full employment, Beatlemania, summer of love, Carnaby street, man on the moon, world cup, Cuban crisis, smog, the big freeze - so many t-shirts.

Nostalgic view so every day was of course sunny but I do still feel very fortunate.

This has been the most unpredictable world cup of all time! England won in penalties for the first time ever in the World Cups, winners of previous 4 cup were knocked out in the ground stage, Italy didn't qualify and big boys like Brazil and Argentina or Spain didn't even make it to the Semi-Final! England could had beat Belgium if they played with their A team but played tactfully for the second spot and worked brilliantly so far! We will most likely to breeze past Croatia and hopefully we will win the cup. I just hope we don't take out more ambulances and stay a bit more civil after the win LOL

ps. it's coming home!

LOL I suspect the feel good factor is in England only Del, the Jocks are spitting venom into their Neeps and Tatties and the Taffs are crying into their Lava BreadLOL
