Does it do any damage to the gearbox stationary in Drive holding foot brake. Is it better in Neutral ?

its designed to cope with being left in drive, most traffic lights are a few minutes max without moving, traffic jams you know when your in it if its slow moving, or stationary for long periods of time

you can sense the clutch disengaging as you slow down at about 5mph so as long as you're not on the accelerator and brake at the same time you will be OK.
