Hi all, I’m looking to buy a used clio rs and the one I’ve seen makes this strange hissing/screeching noises. The owner assures me it’s normal but to it sounds strange. Does yours sound the same?

I'm talking about the noise starting at 0:08 and then again at 0:13. I would be so relieved if it's normal as I actually just pulled the trigger on the purchase :) I will anyway take it to a mechanic to make sure.

I'm not a professional mechanic. Having bought a few cars in my time, an engine on starting up will make some odd noises before it has warmed up. It should be be run for at least 15-20 minutes before it will sound totally smooth. The acid test is the test drive and how it performs on the road. Having had one for 2 years, I think you will enjoy it. It's the best car I have owned.

Mine makes the ticking noise as that’s just the injectors
But the funny sooking and blowing noise I’ve never heard from another rs200t
Mind you I don’t see many and haven’t seen another Rs in Scotland or at Knockhill track nights
A very rare beasty in central Scotland are the rs200t
