Hey there!

I bought a used 220 trophy last month, and read on the RS Monitor that removing the air dams improves front brake cooling.

I looked inder the car and they are riveted instead of bolted.

Can anyone confirm that the air dams mentioned on the RSMonitor are the ones with the small vertical plane in front of the front wheels (photos are welcome)?

Cheers

Did you notice any difference after removing them?

How did you remove them?

It looks like I have to destroy the rivets, making it harder to put the dams back If I need to.

My service did that, not sure how but it doesn't look destroyed :)
I removed them basically right after first track day so hard to tell if there is a difference. On first TD I didn't have any problems but since i read here many complains about brakes in c4 i decided to do it.

Thanks, I'll try to remove them myself and see if I notice any difference.

Maybe with an angled grinder I'll be able to do it.

You won’t notice a difference. I had mine removed and have done loads of track days since. No issues.

Just removed the air dams last week and went to test the car in the same placi where I cooked the brakes last time and noticed a huge difference.

They stay way cooler than before.

Maybe a better set of pads when these wear out or something, but I regained trust in my brakes again since I removed the air dams
