So today is 6 weeks since delivery and return of my megane, and still no confirmed date to receive my gearbox, customer service today was very sheepish on the call not giving me much, but a visit to my dealer, the service manager told me she had a call today from Head of a technical department asking if it had been sorted, then when told it hadn't, and went away and come back saying they will have a delivery date for us Wednesday.
So who knows

Doesn't anyone even have a Clio RS they could let you have?

Finding a gearbox might be difficult offering a through explanation should not be!

I've told them now(for the 3rd or 4th time) to give me a list of the edc meganes available in the country and let me have my pick, I'm not ordering new and waiting till after Xmas for delivery so that's not an option.
Apparently there is a gearbox sat waiting to be sent, they just don't know when it will and why it hasn't been.
I have even told them to take a box out of another car, but this isn't possible due to warranty and blah blah blah.

Finally, the gearbox arrived yesterday, will be starting the install on Monday as the main tech they want to do the fit isn't there until Monday.
The disappointing part, I have had no contact from Renault customer service since last Friday, my dealer knew Tuesday that the box would be in this week, so would think CS would of been all over me this week letting me know it's arriving and the end of this poop show is near, but called them yesterday late on, still no call back, called earlier and still no call back, I feel loved lol.

If they have left it outside, uncovered, and potentially coated in bird $hit, then make sure you get them to cover the cost of a detailer to sort the paintwork.
Don’t underestimate the dealers ability to ruin the paintwork when they “clean” it before handing it back to you.

I'm saying nothing till that box is in the car and you're heading for the bypass!

It is outside but its not somewhere that birds are sat above, so it can get capped on, but only as much as it being parked on the drive, what I have said is tyres being sat for that long and also fuel in the car, as there is half a tanks worth in there, I have heard can go funny if left.
I'm not holding my breath until I'm back in it and driving it away from the dealer

Fuel will be fine. I am sure you'll get your car back soon and the money will go towards this being a distant memory in a few weeks. Keep the faith!

If I hadn't been wanting this car since its launch I would of rejected it by now, but there really is no other car that I want, but unfortunately, Renault won't have me back as a customer after this car.

From my own personal experience of dealing with Renault Customer Service, if and only if you can actually speak to the person assigned to your case ( mine was always on dinner, holiday, sickness) then that should be considered some sort of success. I had the 'power steering fault' on the dash for 18 months altogether, the fault light went out at the car slowed to 15 mph. So 5 trips to the dealers, 3 times on the diagnostics, I begged them to get Technical involved but RCS said it was the dealers who actually had to request technical as RCS were not allowed to. Eventually I had to refuse to return the courtesy car on one of the services, and after 2 1/2 days they finally managed to actuate the fault and get a diagnostics reading fault. Finally they got technical involved and the fault was actually the rear ABS sensor targets had failed, and had to have a complete new braking system installed so the car was at the dealers for just short of three weeks

Numerous email the Vincent Tourette the MD of Renault UK makes sure CS try to keep me updated but does not mean they are perfect, still plenty of times that they are unavailable and don't call back within a day, then when they do, sometimes my phone doesn't like that they ring from an unknown number and I just recaive an answer phone message, like the 1 received half 9 on sat morning.

All good so far, got my first proper drive in it tomorrow for work and strangely enough it's through Wales out towards Aberystwyth, could take my c-max work car but.. You know.
The 1 thing that's bugged me, and I can't seem to find answer to, the the overspeed warning, beeping at me when going over speed limit, any ideas how to turn that off?

If you can't switch it off the overspeed warning alarm only happens when the gearbox is about to eat itself!

Sorry, too soon?

Enjoy Wales!!!

If you haven't found it yet, to stop the speed warning on mine there is a little road symbol to the right of the infotainment system if you press that it brings up the option menu to disable or adjust it.

The manual says go in to the menu and vehicle options, then driver options, but I don't have driver options in that menu.
I think its in the sat nav menu, so far I have found out how to mute it, but all it does now it lowers my music sound for a second instead which is just as annoying
