Not a big surprise considering how good value they are at £51k (the steel brakes will be ample on a lightened car). Or they were as I guess they're sold out now.

Unfortunately it wasn’t the slower and less capable £51k car that won the test.

Which is irrelevant, much like your embittered and chronically negative postings. I am confident the £51k car is extremely close on speed and capability to the point of making no difference to the overall assesment, but don't let any common sense get in the way of your trolling. You don't understand track driving anyway.

Im surprised Fifth Gear a couple of weeks ago with Trophy, Hyundai and Golf has not been discussed. I think the Megane since the 250 has won every so called Death Match.

Flawed logic as usual. So when a 275 Trophy R nailed the Ring record and won group tests, might as well just stick with the 275 Trophy as it’s the same car basically, just a bit heavier and on different tyres. Keep stretching your imagination. That test 300 Trophy R and Ring record holder isn’t the £51k car and has 3 significant performance modifications that make the difference. Awaiting your default personal digs.

Interesting. Autocar rated it pretty lame in their best handling car test a few weeks ago.

What do these journalists know....?!

I was referring to them winning three awards from Top Gear, Performance car of the year, best EV and overall manufacturer of the year

Their 8 page road test verdict was 'Better on road, stellar on track, but still not Renault Spts finest. They were pretty disappointed with the Porsche Cayman GT4 as well.In the case of both I think they preferred the previous model.

Good comparison in both price and performance. Who’s the winner?
