The car, a 275 Cup-S, went on sale in the UK last month, at Dundee dealership Arnold Clark. It brings to an end the latest chapter in the model’s history which started in 2009 (although the Mégane Renault Sport story began in 2003).
For the record it came with all the trimmings – Ohlins adjustable dampers, Michelin Cup 2s, 19-inch wheels, Recaro seats etc – and was priced £31,930. Liquid Yellow, synonymous with Renault Sport, was a fitting colour.

Meanwhile Pistonheads also unearthed one of the sales of the century – well certainly of this month. Namely a 1993 Clio Cup race car – a road legal 1993 Clio Cup at that! Although registered in Portugal it is MOTed and “set for a life in England”.
