Time running out to book for Rockingham’s Renault Sport track day

After plenty of high speed trills at Anglesey, Renault Sport owners will next be able to compare their cars’ performance against that of the Renault UK Clio Cup grid around the Rockingham circuit when it hosts Renault Sport UK’s second official track day of the year on Monday 17 July.

The same International Super Sports Car circuit configuration – as raced on by the UK Clio Cup and British Touring Car Championship – is being used for the event at the Northamptonshire venue.

At 1.94 miles in length its 12 corners – including the challenging banked Turn 1 – require plenty of finesse at the wheel.

CLICK HERE to book places which cost £175 per car and which include a full day of high performance driving up to 5.00pm. There is also the option – for just £10 more – of booking expert tuition from a qualified instructor.

The event follows Renault Sport UK’s first official track day of 2017, at the picturesque Anglesey track in North Wales which attracted a fantastic assortment of Renault Sport models as can be seen by our pictures.

Jeremy Townsend, Communications Director for Renault UK, commented: “Our Anglesey track day was just terrific – great weather, great track and a wonderful collection of cars bearing the R.S badge as well as other sporty Renaults.

“The lengths to which the owners go to keep their cars in such superb condition never cease to amaze us. They truly make for of the one of the best owner communities of any motor manufacturer anywhere in the UK.”

He added: “As ever with our track days there was plenty of chatter among the like-minded enthusiasts – some comparing notes on what they have done to their cars; others interested in what others own, have owned or are looking to own.

“Now we look forward to another big gathering of Renault Sports at Rockingham – the day after the British Formula 1 Grand Prix at neighbouring Silverstone! Although very different in feel to Anglesey, Rockingham will challenge owners and their cars just as much – it always favours drivers with a technical, not just brave, approach when our UK Clio Cup races there.

“For the record our UK Clio Cup cars lap Rockingham’s International Super Sports Car circuit in around one minute and 30 seconds. While we don’t realistically anyone to get down to these times it will be interesting to see how close some owners can get and how others are able to improve their times during the course of the day.

“Rockingham also has excellent facilities and we cannot recommend this event high enough.”
