Colburn will surely be looking to add to his Oulton Park victory for the PP Motorsport/Westbourne squad at Snetterton as he also seeks to improve on the fifth place he holds in the current standings – he is now just 23 points behind Max Coates in fourth.
However in between the two Snetterton encounters – which both take place on Sunday, at 10:40 and 17:45 respectively – he will have made the mad dash to Silverstone and back to also fit in the Classic’s feature celebrity race alongside motorcycling legend Steve Parrish in a Westbourne-prepared 1957 Austin A30 Academy car.
It’s a round trip of some 240 miles and, in addition to allowing for traffic and getting into and out of each venue, he will also have to adjust to two very different types of car in a short space of time if he is to remain at his competitive best.
The 24-year-old is certainly regarded as one of the very best in both the UK Clio Cup and classic Austin racing...
The Westbourne team will itself be extra busy at Snetterton. On top of fettling Colburn's distinctive PP-entered car it will also be fielding under its own banner its Thruxton winner James Dorlin and, for the second consecutive event, rapid newcomer Sam Randon.
