The ‘dynamic duo’ have commentated together on the championship for the past seven years. In that time they have become one of motor sport’s most popular commentating double acts thanks to their insider knowledge and the exciting way in which they describe the bumper-to-bumper action to millions of fans watching on TV and on-line.

The Clio Cup will race at the British Touring Car Championship’s high profile events in 2019 with action at each fixture being broadcast LIVE on free-to-air television (ITV4/ITV HD) and also live streamed to mobile devices via ITV.com.

Richard commented: “The Renault UK Clio Cup is always one of the day's highlights for race fans – whether they are visiting the circuit or joining us live on ITV4.

“Viewers know that as well as being a superbly competitive and entertaining championship this is also the best route into BTCC.

“As always I am looking forward to calling the action this season. And who better to work with than 2009 Clio Cup champion Phil Glew? Happy 2019, everyone!”

And said Phil: “It’s fantastic to be back once again; commentating for ITV is one of my favourite jobs in this industry and I genuinely look forward to the Clio Cup races.

“This year marks ten years since I won the championship and I, if I no longer race in the category, commentating on the action still gives me an almighty buzz behind the mic.

“For me the Clio Cup will always be the best one-make saloon car championship probably in the world and what better way to spend my weekends than having the privilege of commentating on it with one of the best in the business – Richard John-Neil!”
